Softball Splits with North Florida

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU softball team split a double-header with the Osprey of North Florida.The Eagles are now 46-14 on the season.

The Eagles lost the first matchup to the Osprey by a score of 3-2. The Eagles were no-hit until Jessica Paez (Belle Glade, Fla.) broke up the no-hitter in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 2-run single that tied the game at 2-2. North Florida would go on to add a run in the top of the seventh and went on to defeat the Eagles by the final score.

FGCU knocked off UNFin game two by a score of 6-5. Sam Waldron (Plant City, Fla.) finished 1-for-4 with three RBI's, Roz Tyre (Lake City, Fla.) finished 1-for-3 with a homerun and one RBI. Morgan Campen (Rougemont, N.C.) picked up the win for FGCU, after she took over for Dana Frantz (Brighton, Mich.) in the seventh inning with the score tied 5-5.

The Eagles will be in action Sunday when they host the Jacksonville Dolphins in double-header action. Sunday will be "Senior Day" and all four FGCU seniors will be honored between Game 1 and Game 2. The first pitch is set for 2 p.m.
