FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU softball team received 20 votes in this week's ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll the Amateur Softball Association announced on Tuesday.
This is the fifth time that the Eagles have earned votes in the ESPN.com national poll.
FGCU has a 40-6 overall record, including winning 32 of their last 34 games. Senior Cheyenne Jenks (Naples, Fla.) leads the team with a .476 batting average. Jenks also has 21 home runs, 65 RBI, and a 1.056 slugging percentage. Cat McDaniel (Melbourne, Fla.) continues to anchor the FGCU pitching staff with her 18-0 record. McDaniel has an ERA of 2.00 and has pitched 13 complete games, including five shutouts.
