FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU softball team’s doubleheader today, Friday, against the University of North Florida at the FGCU Softball Complex has been moved up a 3 p.m. first pitch due to inclement weather expected later this afternoon.
Additionally, FGCU’s Strikeout Cancer initiative which raises funds for the American Cancer Society will now take place on Saturday as opposed to Friday as originally scheduled. Fans are encouraged to wear pink at Saturday’s series finale, which is currently set for 2 p.m.
The doubleheader was originally scheduled to start at 5 p.m. The Eagles (25-21-1) enter the three-game series with an 8-10 mark in Atlantic Sun Conference action, while UNF (25-19) is 9-12 in league play. FGCU holds an impressive 21-9-1 mark at the friendly confines of the FGCU Softball Complex.
