MACON, Ga. – After leading the FGCU softball team to three wins this weekend, senior Jessica Barnes (Winter Haven, Fla./Haines City High School) earned Atlantic Sun Player of the Week honors, as announced by the conference on Monday. The accolade is Barnes’ third of her career and first this season.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Backed again by power hitting at the top of the lineup, the FGCU softball team defeated Jacksonville University 4-0 Sunday afternoon at the JU Softball Complex. The Eagles move to 25-20-1 on the season and 8-10 in Atlantic Sun Conference action, while also earning a series win over JU with two wins in the three-game series.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The FGCU softball team split the first two of three games played against the Dolphins of Jacksonville University Saturday afternoon at the JU Softball Complex. The Eagles earned a 4-2 win in the series opener before falling 7-6 in the late afternoon game. The Eagles improve to 24-21-1 on the season with a 7-10 mark in Atlantic Sun action.

Jessica Barnes led off the afternoon with a home run over the left field wall and the Green and Blue never looked back as they defeated Western Kentucky 3-2 in game one and Liberty University 9-0.
