Sustaining Flight Fundraiser

To assist in offsetting the substantial financial impact of COVID-19, FGCU Athletics is asking our supporters to participate in The Sustaining Flight Fund and Auction. This fundraising initiative will help mitigate our operational revenue loss and the additional expenses incurred as a result of COVID-19 protocols.  All funds raised during the campaign will go to support areas that directly impact our wonderful student-athletes.

Virtual Auction

In lieu of hosting the annual Night At The Nest gala this year, our most successful fundraising event, FGCU hosted a virtual, online auction from Monday, November 30 thru Friday, December 4. Participants were able to bid on exclusive memorabilia, trip packages, unique event experiences, and more to help assist the Green & Blue!

The spring cancellation of events, including March Madness, the postponement of fall athletics events, decreased capacity in Alico Arena due to COVID-19 safety measures, and the costs of COVID-19 testing and other safety implementations has presented an unprecedented budget deficit in excess of $2 million. 

The Sustaining Flight Fundraiser and Auction will directly impact the level of support provided to our student-athletes, their experience at FGCU, and the championship level each program strives to accomplish. 

• Scholarships and cost of attendance
• Medical testing, medical care, and mental healthcare
• Implementation of safety measures for practices and game days as well as for all shared spaces (locker rooms, academics, strength and conditioning, sports medicine)

This support is so critical to FGCU Athletics that those who donate (100 percent tax deductible) will also receive additional Eagles Club Priority Points. Any gifts received prior to June 30, 2021 will receive six priority points per $100 – for comparison, normal annual fund (Eagles Club) donations receive four points per $100.
