FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast sand volleyball team hosts its final home match of the season on Wednesday, April 11 vs. in-state foe FAU (0-4). The match, which will be played at Estero Community Park, is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
Estero Community Park is located at 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd in Estero, Fla., approximately 10 minutes from FGCU’s campus. The facility is a 55-acre multipurpose park that has three lighted sand volleyball courts.
The Eagles (2-3) come into Wedneday’s match after picking up their second win of the season over Stetson, 3-2, in their first home match of the season (Mar. 30).
Holly Youngquist (Estero, Fla./Evangelical Christian HS) and Kaitlin Holm (Fort Myers, Fla./Fort Myers HS/Marshall) will play as FGCU’s No. 1 this weekend, while Karina Mambuca (Naples, Fla./Gulf Coast HS) and Olivia Mesner (Boca Raton, Fla./Spanish River HS) will play at the No. 2 spot. Brooke Kohler (Jupiter, Fla./Jupiter HS/Clemson) and Brittany Muse (Arcadia, Fla./DeSoto County HS) enter the contest as the Green and Blue’s No. 3 pairing. Rounding out FGCU’s team this weekend will be Jill Hopper (Muncie, Ind./Yorktown HS) and Whitney Masters (Muncie, Ind./Wapahani HS) at No. 4 and Gigi Meyer (Gainesville, Fla./Buchholz HS) and Lindsey Childs (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./South Plantation HS) in the No. 5 spot.
