FORT MYERS, Fla - FGCU has announced the hiring of Patricia Stringham. She will assist Neal Studd’s Swimming and Diving program and also work as an academic advisor to student-athletes.
"I am excited to have Patti as part of our staff as we begin our first ever season,” said Studd. “Not only does she bring a wealth of experience to our diving program but she adds to the academic services that will help our athletes excel in the classroom. This appointment is testament to our department putting the student first in student-athlete."
Stringham was a member of the University of Kansas Swimming and Diving team for four years. During her time at Kansas, she was a two-year conference finalist. She was also named First team All Conference following the 2003 season. In addition to a successful collegiate diving career, she was a JayHawk Scholar Award recipient five times as well.
Following her diving career at Kansas, Stringham began her coaching career at St. Cloud State where she coached two student-athletes that reached the Division II National Championships. After spending a year at St. Cloud State, she went to Missouri-Kansas City to obtain a masters degree in Guidance and Counseling. While at UMKC, she was the Intercollegiate Athletic Tutor Coordinator.
