Swimming & Diving Remains in Top-Five

OXFORD, Ohio, - The FGCU women’s swimming and diving team remains in the top-five after the second day of the 14th annual Miami (Ohio) Invitational. The hosts have taken over the top spot with a team score of 1070 while FGCU claims fifth with a team score of 412.

FGCU took 7th place in the 200 yard Freestyle relay with a time of 1:38.28 with the team of Rae Conroy, Taylor Cooke, Rae-Lynn Sheffield and Rachael Rein. FGCU’s Lisa Errington, Viktoria Hyddmark, Diana Granville and Kristen Pomerleau also grabbed 15th in the event with a time of 1:40.06.

Cori Lallier won the second event of the meet for the Eagles in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:05.69. Diana Granville also finished 24th with a mark of 2:11.36 for FGCU. Taylor Cooke finished with a time of 1:55.66 in the 200 yard freestyle, placing 23rd in the event. In the 100 yard breaststroke, Catrina Silveira finished in 14th with a time of 1:07.14 while Rae-Lynn Sheffield finished 20th with a 1:07.09. In the 100 yard backstroke, Viktoria Hyddmark finished second with a 57.25 and Rachael Rein was 12th with a 59.23 in the event.

Lallier also took 20th in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:35.19 while Katie Oke was 26th a mark of 4:44.26. Rein placed 13th in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.44. In the three meter diving event, Sarah McCollough led FGCU with a 206.80 for 13th place. Karmin McNamara and Gaby Shaw finished 25th and 26th with scores of 174.60 and 168.80.

The 14th Annual Miami (Ohio) invitational concludes on Saturday.
