Swimming & Diving Places 4th in Miami Invitational

OXFORD, Ohio, - The FGCU women’s swimming and diving team finished fourth in the 16 team Miami (Ohio) Invitational. The hosts won the meet with a score of 2103 while the Eagles finished fourth with 844 points in the meet.

On the final day, Courtney Gallo placed second in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:55.63 while Taylor Cooke was 6th in the event with a mark of 5:04.95. FGCU also received a great performance from Viktoria Hyddmark in the 200 yard IM who placed eighth with a time of 2:10.90.

FGCU wound up winning a pair of events in the 14th Annual Miami (Ohio) Invitational. Cori Lallier won the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:05.69 while Courtney Gallo won the 1650 yard freestyle with a time of 16:51.24.

The Eagles will be back in action again on January 5th when they host St. Louis.
