Thursday, September 25, 2008

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Over the weekend, the FGCU swim team kicked off their season at the FGCU Aquatics Center with the second annual Blue-Green Scrimmage. The tournament was run using the same format of any regular season swim meet. After 15 completed events, neither team had pulled away with the lead. In the sixteenth and final event, the 200 freestyle relay, the green team was able to pull out the victory with a final score of 153.5 to 142.5. After the met, coach Elizabeth Lykins was pleased saying, “This was a good met for us we got to see some things that need to be worked on but I’m very happy with the team right now.”

The Eagles will be back in action on September 27, 2008 when they travel to Boca Rotan, Florida to face off against FAU and Georgia Tech.
