FORT MYERS, Fla. – The back-to-back Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Champions, the FGCU women’s swimming & diving team hosted its annual Blue/Green Scrimmage at the FGCU Aquatics Center on Saturday morning. The Green Team defeated the Blue Team by a score of 150-146.

“We had some girls who surprised themselves with how sharp they looked and then we had some on the other side”, said reigning CCSA Coach of the Year, head coach Neal Studd. “I think some of our girls will have to step up next week at the Florida Invitational. Overall, I think it was a strong day and we will continue working.”

The Blue and Green officially open their schedule at the home of the 2010 National Champion Florida Gators at the All-Florida invite, beginning on October 1 in Gainesville, Fla.

“We are going to travel a large squad and pretty much swim everyone,” said Studd. “We are going to get a lot of information next weekend. There are a lot of schools there, but really it’s about the individual and seeing where we need to improve and adjust our training.”
