CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Florida Gulf Coast freshman Rachael Rein (Oviedo, Fla.) and North Florida junior Emily Eisenhower (Scottsdale, Ariz.) have been selected as the CCSA Women’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for meets competed Jan. 14-20, it was announced today.
Rein led her team to two victories over Conference opponents North Florida and Campbell last week, earning five first-place finishes. She got her week started with a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle against North Florida, clocking in at 25.57. In her second event of the meet, the 100-yard backstroke, she tallied another first-place finish touching the wall at 1:00.68, nearly two seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Against Campbell, Rein started off the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.48, which also marks her new personal best. She then went on to win the 100-yard freestyle, clocking in at 53.27. She finished out the meet with a win in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:08.47, which was nearly four seconds ahead of all other swimmers. Rein sits atop the CCSA in six events.
Eisenhower earned one first-place finish and one second-place finish in North Florida’s meet against Florida Gulf Coast last week. In the 3-meter dive, she finished with 262.42 points, which was good for first-place and went on to come in second in the 1-meter with 235.34 points. Eisenhower sits first in the top 16 in both categories.
