Freshman Vicky Cadge earned CCSA Swimmer of the Week honors for the first time in her young career.
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast freshman Victoria Cadge (Long Melford, United Kingdom) has been selected as the CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Week for meets competed Jan. 3-11, it was announced today.
Cadge was unbeaten in four events against two Conference teams last week, starting with the 200 medley relay breaststroke leg with a time of 28.10, over one second faster than all other competitors. She then swam a 1:06.84 in the 100 breaststroke, three and a half seconds ahead of the nearest competitor. Swimming the 200 breaststroke at 2:25.28, Cadge outsprinted the second place finisher by three and a half seconds on the second 100 yards, to run away the winner. Cadge ended the meet winning the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.50, besting her teammate by five seconds.
The Eagles will be back in action Saturday, January 17, as they play host to UNF at the FGCU Aquatics Center at 11 a.m.
