FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University sophomore diver Stephanie Young (Tarpon Springs, Fla.) has been selected Women’s Diver of the Week by the CCSA, the conference announced Thursday afternoon. Young helped FGCU to a pair of victories in its season-opening meet at Georgia Tech, as the Eagles defeated Florida Atlantic and Georgia Southern on Saturday afternoon. Young placed seventh in the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 208.10, and followed that up with an eighth-place finish in the 3-meter diving competition with 208.30 points.
In addition, sophomore swimmer Leah Daniel (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) was nominated by the CCSA for Women’s Swimmer of the Week as a result of her performance at the Georgia Tech Fall Quad Meet.
The FGCU Swimming & Diving team will be back in the water next weekend when they host ACC foes Miami and Florida State. The tri-meet starts at 11 AM on Saturday, October 17th, at the FGCU Aquatics Center.
