FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast’s Karmin McNamara has been named Women’s Diver of the Week for meets competed Nov. 30-Dec. 6, it was announced today by the League. This marks the second time this season that McNamara has earned this honor, previously winning the award for the meets competed Oct. 26-Nov. 1.
McNamara, a junior from Tampa, Fla., helped the Eagles to a solid second-place finish at the 16th annual Miami (OH) Invitational this past weekend. Her performances helped FGCU hold off a field that featured schools from major Division I conferences as well as some of the nation’s top Division III schools. In the 3-meter dive, McNamara took home sixth-place with a total score of 260.35, while finishing seventh in Saturday’s 1-meter diving competition with a score of 258.25.
The Miami Invitational was the only competition for FGCU in the month of December. The Eagles currently own a 7-3 dual meet record and are ranked 6th in the CollegeSwimming.com/CSCAA Mid-Major Division I Poll. FGCU will now have a little over a month to rest and prepare for their next meet, which takes place January 12th. The Eagles will host Radford in a dual meet that afternoon. The meet is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. at the FGCU Aquatics Center.
