FORT MYERS, Fla. – Following a month-long break, the sixth-ranked FGCU Swimming & Diving team returns to action Tuesday afternoon when they host CCSA foe Radford University in a dual meet at the FGCU Aquatics Center. The meet is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start.
The Eagles currently own a 7-3 dual meet record (2-0 in CCSA) and are ranked sixth in the latest CollegeSwimming.com/CSCAA Mid-Major Division I poll. The Blue and Green last competed on December 7, the final day of the Miami Invitational, where they finished second of eight teams. FGCU has also won four consecutive dual meets, with their last loss coming to Florida State on October 17. The Eagles only losses this season came at the hands of schools that are currently ranked (Florida State, 24th) or receiving votes in the CollegeSwimming.com/CSCAA Division I poll (Alabama & Georgia Tech).
The Radford Highlanders (1-6 overall, 1-3 in CCSA) are coming off a 141-82 loss at the University of North Florida on Saturday afternoon.
This will be the second meeting between the two schools, with the Eagles having defeated the Highlanders last year, 207-75, at the FGCU Aquatics Center. Thus far this season, the schools share one mutual opponent: fellow CCSA member UNF. The Eagles defeated the Ospreys, 181.5-116.5, while Radford lost, 141-82.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. at the FGCU Aquatics Center. Admission is free to the public.
