FORT MYERS, Fla. - After her season-best performances against Florida State and Miami, FGCU swimming junior Vicky Cadge (Long Melford, Suffolk, United Kingdom/Kelly College) earned the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Women’s Swimmer of the Week award.
This is the second time this season that Cadge has been honored and the third time an Eagle swimmer has picked up the award out of possible four weeks. Classmate Alessandra Cianci (Plantation, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) also picked up the award on October 11.
Cadge won the 200 breast (2:18.33) and the 200 IM (2:03.95), while picking up second in the 100 back with a season-best time of 56.72 to beat out swimmers from ACC foes Florida State and Miami last Saturday. Cadge shaved two seconds off of her season-best 200 IM time previously set against FAU on Oct 9. In the 200 breast, Cadge finished with a time of 2:18.33, taking a full nine seconds off of her previous fastest time.
The Blue and Green are back in the pool on Friday, October 29 as they host FIU in their first home meet of the season. The meet is set to begin at 6 p.m. at the FGCU Aquatics Center.
