FORT MYERS, Fla. – The three-time Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Champions, the FGCU women’s swimming & diving team hosted its annual Blue/Green Scrimmage at the FGCU Aquatics Center on Saturday morning. After numerous lightning delays the meet was called off, with the Green Team leading the Blue Team by a score of 81-49 through nine events.
Both teams were able to finish nine of the 16 events, with the Green Team holding the 32-point edge.
“It was unfortunate that we didn’t get to finish the scrimmage but I was proud of the effort the teams gave out there”, said reigning CCSA Coach of the Year, head coach Neal Studd. “I still believe we have a lot of hard work ahead of us. “Overall, I think it was a strong day and we will continue working.”
The Green and Blue officially open their schedule in Miami next weekend taking on Florida International on Friday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m.
The next day the Eagles will participate in a tri-meet with FSU and Miami that has recently been pushed up to 10 a.m. Saturday morning instead of the original scheduled time of 11 a.m.
