FORT MYERS, Fla. – FGCU senior Maegan Butler (Orangeburg, N.Y./Tappan Zee/FAU) has been named Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Diver of the Week, announced by the league Thursday.

Butler competed in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the Green and Blue’s dual meet against Florida State. She placed third on the 1-meter board with a score of 242.24 and earned a third place finish on the 3-meter board with a 240.00 total.

This is the third time in her two-year career at FGCU and first time this season Butler has been named CCSA Diver of the Week. Last week, teammate Cayla Collins (Largo, Fla./Osceola) won the same award, which was the first one handed out by the CCSA this season

The Eagles will be back in action Friday when they host ACC foe Miami in a dual meet at the FGCU Aquatics Center. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. and is part of the department’s Third Annual Pink Kick-Off campaign that will feature three games on campus over the weekend. All the proceeds from the meet will go to breast cancer awareness and research.
