Patti Stringham begins her third season as FGCU diving coach. Stringham’s responsibilities include the diving program and academic advising for student-athletes.
The 2009 Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Diving Coach of the Year, had three divers earn CCSA All-Conference honors and helped the Eagles capture the 2009 CCSA Conference Championship.
During her first year as diving coach, Stringham’s athletes earned two silver medals at conference championships and four additional top-10 finishes helping the team to a second place finish in the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association.
Stringham began her coaching career at St. Cloud State where she coached two student-athletes that reached Division II National Championships. After spending a year at St. Cloud State, she went to Missouri-Kansas City to obtain a masters degree in Guidance and Counseling. While at UMKC, she was the Intercollegiate Athletic Tutor Coordinator.
Prior to coaching Stringham was a member of the University of Kansas Swimming and Diving team for four years and graduated in 2003. During her time at Kansas, she was a two-year conference finalist on the 1M and 3M boards. She was also named First Team All-Conference following the 2003 season. In addition to a successful collegiate diving career, she was a JayHawk Scholar Award recipient five times.
