Volleyball Match against Saint Leo Postponed
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University’s volleyball match against Saint Leo University on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 has been postponed while the Southwest Florida community and the FGCU campus recover from the effects of Hurricane Wilma’s landfall on Monday. A makeup date has not been announced.
In anticipation of the hurricane’s arrival to the Southwest Florida coast, FGCU closed its campus to all classes and activities on Thursday, October 20 and extended it through Tuesday, October 25 after Monday’s landfall in Collier County. All classes and activities are canceled on the main campus, as well as off campus including the Naples Center, Charlotte Center, Cape Coral Center, and distance learning.
The Eagles are scheduled to resume its schedule at South Carolina Aiken on Friday, October 28 at 7 p.m.
FGCU (22-2) has won 13 straight and is ranked No. 2 in the South Region. South Carolina-Aiken (12-9) is ranked 10th in the South Region.
