FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU volleyball team looks to extend its four match winning streak this weekend when they entertain Belmont and Lipscomb this Friday and Saturday.

The Eagles have been dominant at home during the five plus years of the program, posting a 44-3 record in Alico Arena. FGCU has been equally dominant in Atlantic Sun Conference competition, going 32-3 against league foes since joining the conference in 2007.

The Bruins are currently 4-7 overall and 2-1 in the league. Belmont recently used a dominating fourth set to defeat North Florida to earn their second conference victory last week (25-20, 25-20, 20-25, 25-8). The victory ended a seven-match homestand for the Bruins at the Curb Event Center.

Lipscomb is currently 6-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference. They knocked off Jacksonville in three sets last weekend to pick up their third straight win.

In addition to their four consecutive wins, FGCU has not dropped a set to a conference opponent so far this season. In conference matches, the Eagles lead the league in service aces, assists and kills.

FGCU’s Friday night match against the Bruins of Belmont will be at 5:00 p.m. while Saturday’s match, which is the A-Sun Match of the Week, with Lipscomb is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. Both matches can be seen live on A-Sun.TV.

The Eagles will unveil their 2008 A-Sun Regular Season Championship banner prior to Friday night’s game with Belmont
