Volleyball Hosts USC Upstate on Senior Day
Wednesday, November 11, 2009

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU volleyball team will host the Spartans of USC Upstate for Senior Day on Friday night beginning at 7 p.m. The match can be seen live on ASun.TV. Seniors Chandra Lefever and Ashley Yance and junior Amy Casteel will be honored prior to the beginning of the match.

With a win over USC Upstate on Friday, the Eagles will force Jacksonville to win their final two games in order for the Dolphins to lock up the No. 2 seed (and a first round bye) in the 2009 Atlantic Sun Volleyball Tournament. If JU loses to either Kennesaw State or Mercer and FGCU defeats the Spartans, then FGCU will secure the No. 2 seed in the A-Sun Tournament.

The Eagles are currently 14-5 in conference play, including winning four of their last five matches.

The Spartans (7-21 overall, 3-15 A-Sun) come into Saturday's games after being swept 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-21) by Lipscomb on Nov. 7, in Atlantic Sun Conference action. Upstate has now lost seven of their last eight matches.
