FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University picked up its record eighth straight victory with a three-game sweep of Warner Southern (30-15, 30-15, 30-7) at Alico Arena Tuesday night. Freshman hitter Brooke Youngquist (Fort Myers Canterbury) blasted 13 kills and senior Kristy Hartley (Naples St. John Neumann) smashed 11 as the Eagles moved to 22-4 overall. FGCU has won all seven home matches this fall by a 3-0 score. Freshman libero Whitney Hendry (Fort Myers Bishop Verot) led a defensive effort that held the Royals (7-13) to a .078 attack percentage with 21 digs. Junior Devon Watts (Somerville, TX) added eight kills and 12 digs for the Eagles. Sophomore setter Laura Manovill (Dunedin) dished out 44 assists for FGCU. FGCU, ranked sixth in the NCAA Division II South Region, returns to action on Tuesday, November 9 at 7 p.m. when they host Northwood University. Florida Gulf Coast def.
