Fort Myers, FL – The Florida Gulf Coast University volleyball team has been running strong, and even though they made it through their opponents to a 24-2 record, Hurricane Wilma has become their worst opponent this season. The Sunshine State Conference today announced that they will not be able to play non-conference opponents in order to make up postponed conference games. This has cancelled FGCU’s games versus Saint Leo, Lynn, Barry, Nova Southeastern and Rollins. The Eagles home finale and Senior Night match versus Ashland University (22-6) will be played as scheduled this Saturday, November 5 at 7:00 p.m. The Eagles final regular season game will be Friday, November 11 at Division I North Florida University at 7:00 p.m. The Eagles fell to the Ospreys in the Division II South Region semifinals a year ago. The Eagles are currently ranked second in the South Region. Regionals will be held November 17-19 at a campus location to be announced.
