Tampa, Fla. -- Florida Gulf Coast advanced to the NCAA South region final with a 3-2 defeat of number-two seed Florida Southern. The scores of the games were 26-30, 31-29, 26-30, 30-18, 15-12 as the Eagles came back from a 2-1 deficit. Florida Gulf Coast improves to 27-3 overall as Florida Southern finishes its season 33-4. Florida Gulf Coast was led by Devon Watts, who recorded 21 kills. Whitney Hendry had 17 digs, Ingrid Felicio had 16. Ericka Fonseca had seven blocks as setter Laura Manovill had 41 assists. Florida Southern was led by Beverly Stasis, who had 26 kills and 18 digs. Jordan McAfee had 21 digs and Daryl Baby had 20. McAfee also had 62 assists for the Moccasins. Florida Gulf Coast advances to the NCAA South Region Final to face the winner of the Tampa/Barry match at 7:00 pm tomorrow. -- Courtesy Tampa Sports Information --
