Volleyball's Ginest Named DAKTRONICS All-American

FORT MYERS, Fla. - FGCU's Chandra Ginest was named third team All-American by DAKTRONICS. She is the first FGCU volleyball player to be named All-American by DAKTRONICS.

Ginest led the Eagles to a 29-3 record and school record 27-match winning streak. The team also finished the year second in the nation in hitting percentage at .299. Ginest ranked sixth in assists at 13.33 assists per game. Ginest made in immediate impact for the Eagles, establishing a new school record for assists in a match in FGCU's third match. She now owns seven of the top-10 assist totals for a single match.

FGCU just completed its last season as an NCAA Division II member and will join Division I and become a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference beginning in the fall of 2007. FGCU volleyball loses just one senior entering next season.
