Karl Smesko, head women's basketball coach at Florida Gulf Coast University, and his staff have announced that they will hold their 2013 Summer Camp on June 24-26 at Alico Arena.

FGCU Women's Basketball Director of Basketball Operations, Mel Thomas, was inducted into her high schoolâ€™s (Mount Notre Dame) Hall of Fame on Thursday, April 18 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Thomas, the all-time leading scorer in the history of Mount Notre Dame's basketball program, and the 2004 MND state championship team were recognized at the event.

Less than one month after leading FGCU to its sixth consecutive postseason Division I Tournament appearance, redshirt junior Sarah Hansen (McKean, Pa./General McLane HS) was named to the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (DI-AAA ADA) Women's Scholar-Athlete team, the organization announced on Thursday, April. 11.

Freshman Stephanie Haas (Avon Lake, Ohio/Magnificat HS) scored a team-high 13 points as the FGCU women's basketball team fell to Winthrop, 65-51, in a WNIT first round matchup on Thursday night at Alico Arena.
