McNally Nabs A-Sun Player of the Week Honor
MACON, Ga. – Florida Gulf Coast forward Adrianne McNally powered the Eagles to a perfect 2-0 week and the championship trophy at the FGCU Holiday Classic. The forward averaged 19.5 points in the two tournament games, en route to earning MVP honors for the weekend, and notched her first career Player of the Week honor the conference office announced Wednesday.
The Howell, Mich. native scored a career-high 20 points and five Eagles scored in double-figures as FGCU defeated Texas Pan-American 74-40 to advance to the Championship Game of the FGCU Holiday Classic. McNally drained 5-of-7 shots from long-range and also registered two rebounds and two steals to go along with her game-high 20 points.
In the championship game, McNally drained 6-of-11 shots from the field, shot a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe and registered six rebounds and four assists to go along with her game-high 19 points as the Eagles defeated Memphis 71-49 in Alico Arena.
For the tourney, the sophomore averaged 19.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and one steal. She also shot 59.1 percent (13-of-22) from the field, 60 percent (6-of-10) from long-distance and was perfect from the free throw line (7-of-7).
