FORT MYERS, Fla. – Four Eagles scored in double figures as the FGCU women’s basketball team defeated Lipscomb 65-51 to win their seventh consecutive game.

The Eagles improve to 12-7 overall and 7-2 in the A-sun, while Lipscomb falls to 6-17 overall and 4-5 in the A-Sun.

The Eagles once again showed their depth as four players scored in double figures. From the 16:50 mark through the 8:11 mark, neither team held more than a two-point advantage in the second half. It was at the 8:10 mark when FGCU was finally able to gain some distance and put Lipscomb away, as De La Torre knocked down a 3-pointer to give the Eagles the 49-45 advantage. The Eagles would stay in control for the rest of the contest and increased their lead to as many as 17 points before winning by the final score of 65-51.

For the game, the Eagles shot 24-of-56 (42.9 percent) from the field and 9-of-22 (40.9 percent) from behind the 3-point line, while Lipscomb shot 44.2 percent (23-of-52) from the floor and 33.3 percent (4-of-12) from long range. The Bisons dominated the boards and out-rebounded the Eagles 39-27, but FGCU forced Lipscomb into 24 turnovers, while committing only 11 miscues.
