Notes on UNCG
UNC Greensboro picked up its first win of the season on Monday, surviving a High Point rally to win 74-69. UNCG’s Lakiah Hyson went 6-for-6 from the free throw line in the last minute of the game to put the Spartans back on top and ice the game. UNCG led by 16 in the first half but saw the Panthers storm back to take the lead at the break, then lead by seven with a little more than six minutes to play. The Spartans were able to withstand the rally, however, putting all five starters in double figures in improving to 26-14 all-time in home openers.
UNCG coach Lynne Agee came into this season 12th on the list of active Division I coaches and is now up to 567 career wins. Agee sports an overall record of 567-282 (.668 winning percentage) and is in her 31st year as a head coach. This season is her 28th at the helm of the UNCG program.
