A-Sun Women's Basketball Season Previews: FGCU Eagles
MACON, Ga. - The 2011-12 Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Basketball Season gets underway on Friday, Nov. 11th and prior to that date the A-Sun office will preview each of the ten member institutions.
FGCU's Tom James sits down with the Eagles Head Coach Karl Smesko and Preseason All-Conference senior guard Courtney Chihil in the FGCU season preview.

Season Schedule // Roster
• Last season's win total of 28 for the Eagles ranks as the second-most in A-Sun history. FGCU started the season with 14-straight wins and reached as high as No. 2 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll.
• FGCU advanced to the WNIT for the fourth time in as many years last season to earn postseason berths in each of their years as a reclassifying school. The Eagles hosted Florida in second round and set an Alico Record for attendance with 4,543 spectators.
• The Eagles return six of their top-seven scorers from last season including Sarah Hansen (13.3) and Kelsey Jacobson (11.7), who ranked first and third, respectively. Those six student-athletes combined for 74.4 percent of the Eagles offense.
• Last season, FGCU picked up three wins against BCS-level opponents with victories against Seton Hall, Virginia Tech and Indiana. This season, the Eagles square off with four BCS teams with rematches against Seton Hall and Virginia Tech, while also playing Michigan State at home and NC State in the Hawai’i Rainbow Wahine Invitational.
