FORT MYERS, Fla. – Following a successful 2013-14 season, head coach Karl Smesko and the FGCU women’s basketball team will host their 2014 summer camp June 23-25 at Alico Arena.  The camp serves girls entering grades 5-12 in the fall of 2014.

The FGCU Girls Basketball camp will focus on instruction in shooting, passing, ball handling and defense in a competitive and energetic atmosphere led by FGCU's coaching staff and current players. Coaches will teach fundamental basketball skills while motivating players to incorporate hustle, teamwork, positive attitude and competitiveness into their game.  The camp will provide young athletes with the skill training needed to improve their game.  Campers will have the opportunity to meet players from all over the country and have fun in live competitions designed to help them apply the techniques they learn.

The camp will feature various skill instruction stations, games that incorporate new skills and 5-on-5 competition.  Those interested in the camp or looking for further information can visit the camp’s homepage at FGCUAthletics.com/wbasketball/camp
