Eagle women improve to 16-1

Fort Myers – Trish Fleming scored 20 points and Rebecca Stewart added 11 as the FGCU women’s basketball team won their 16th game of the season 60-49. FGCU took a commanding 36-15 lead into the locker room at halftime as they held the Lady Saints to 37.5% shooting, however the Lady Saints stormed back in the second half outscoring the eagles 34-24. The Lady Saints improved their shooting as they shot 42.9% the second half, but it was not enough as the eagles won by 11. Noreen McCallum turned in another solid performance as she tallied 10 points and pulled down 7 boards. Megan Jones dished out 7 assists and scored 7 points in the winning effort. Flagler was led by Laura Schwendeman, who scored 15 points. The eagles will go on the road their next two games, as they will face Warner Southern this Thursday at 5:30.
