One Game on Tap This Week for #12 FGCU Women's Basketball

FORT MYERS, Fla. – After winning their only home game in nearly a month on Saturday, the No. 12 Florida Gulf Coast University women’s basketball team will host its only game of this week against Florida Memorial on Monday night. The Eagles (22-1) made short work of Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday night. Senior guard Candy Myers (Leipsic, Ohio) drained a season-high 26 points on the strength of seven 3-pointers to lead three Eagles in double figures. She added four steals and three assists. Junior Jen Conely (Warren, Minn.) posted 17 points, including five 3’s, while junior Alex Nelson (Edinburgh, Scotland) added 11 points four rebounds and a steal. The Eagles hit a season-high 15 3-pointers against Palm Beach Atlantic, shooting 37% from beyond the arc and 42% from the field. Monday night’s game will be the last home game for the Eagles before the season-ending Division II National Independent Tournament from Feb. 24-26. The tournament features eight teams and four games each day. Tickets are available from the Alico Arena box office at (239) 590-7145. The Eagles have road games remaining at Palm Beach Atlantic on February 17 and at Lynn University on February 21. Tip-off for Monday night’s game is 5:30 p.m. The game can be heard live via Eagles internet with the pre-game show at 5:25 p.m.
