Halliburton Earns Academic Honor

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University women’s basketball standout Ebonie Halliburton was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-Academic All-District III third team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday. Halliburton becomes the first player in program history to earn Academic All-District honors. She holds a 3.34 cumulative grade-point average with a major in criminal justice. Halliburton, a senior guard from East St. Louis, Ill., is fourth on the team in scoring at 9.6 points per game and leads the team with 102 assists. She currently ranks seventh all-time in scoring with 546 points, fifth all-time with 227 rebounds, fifth in steals with 75 and is second all-time in career assists with 208. FGCU (23-1), ranked No. 13 in the latest NCAA Division II national poll, returns to action on Friday, February 17 at 7 p.m. when it travels to Palm Beach Atlantic University.
