DELAND, Fla. - Adrianne McNally recorded 20 points as the FGCU women's basketball team defeated Stetson 58-44.
After pulling ahead 2-0, in the first 1:05 of the game and never trailing during the contest, the Eagles shot 31.9 percent (22-of-69) from the floor, including 37 percent (10-of-27) from the three-point line, to stay ahead and defeat the Hatters for their eleventh win in their last 12 games.
With the win, FGCU improves to 16-8 overall (11-3 A-Sun), while the Hatters fall to 7-20 overall (5-9 A-Sun).
Two Eagles scored in double-figures, led by McNally’s (Howell, Mich.) 20 points. For the game, McNally made 9-of-22 attempts from the field, including 2-of-5 from 3-point range. She also had eight rebounds and three assists.
Delia De La Torre (Las Cruces, N.M.) tallied 13 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the floor. De La Torre also added five rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Bri Zabel registered a career-high eight points and tied her career-high with six rebounds in 14 minutes of action.
Stetson was led by Ashli Jackson’s 16 points.
The Eagles return to action on Thursday, Feb. 28 when they host to Jacksonville in the first game a double-header with the men‘s team. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
