Know Your Opponent: Florida
- Friday's game is the 19th time that Florida begins its season away from the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. Florida has won 13 of its last 14 season openers, including victories in each of the last three years. The Gators, however, sport just a 3-6 record in season-openers played on the opposition’s home turf. This is also the first time since the 2003-04 season that the Gators open on the road.

- Gator newcomer Steffi Sorensen began her collegiate career as a member of the Florida Gulf Coast University team that reached the NCAA Division II national championship game in 2006. She was the Eagle’s second-leading scorer with 14.5 points per game, hitting 105-of- 264 (39.8 percent) from behind the arc, and one of only two players who started every game that season.

- Florida dropped their exhibition game to DT-3, a travel team comprised of recent collegiate stars, by the final score of 71-62 on November 7th.
