FORT MYERS, Fla. – Christina Rivette, a 5'10 wing from Fenton High School in Fenton, Mich., has signed on as the newest member of the FGCU women's basketball program, head coach Karl Smesko announced Wednesday.
“Chrissy is a great fit for our program,” said Smesko. “She is a good all-around player and an excellent shooter. She is someone who works very hard on her game.”
A three-year varsity starter, Rivette led Fenton during her junior year by averaging 18.9 points and 7.3 rebounds. During her junior year, Rivette also shot 47% from three-point range, ranking her second in the state of Michigan, while setting school records for career three-pointers (213) and three-pointers in a season (63).
Rivette currently ranks seventh on the all-time Metro scoring list with 1,039 points. She is a three-time All-Metro First Team selection, a three-time First Team All-County selection, a one-time Class A All-State Third Team selection and has earned Class A All-State Honorable Mention on two occasions.
Smesko and the Eagles currently have a 1-1 overall record and host the Broncos of Santa Clara in Alico Arena on November 26 at 3 p.m.
