SPARTANBURG, S.C. – With several inches of snow falling overnight in Spartanburg and more snow along with ice in the forecast for Monday, the men’s and women’s Atlantic Sun basketball doubleheader between Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate has been cancelled.

A makeup date has not been set, but will be announced in the near future.

Originally scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. with FGCU’s undefeated women’s program (12-0, 5-0) taking on second-place Upstate (7-6, 4-1), the winter weather conditions would have made it unsafe for game officials, event staff and fans to get to the Hodge Center. The men’s game was slated to start at 7:30 p.m.

The FGCU men (3-11, 0-5) will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 14 at 7:05 p.m. against Kennesaw State in sunny Southwest Florida. The women will put their unblemished mark on the line one day later (Saturday, Jan. 15) also against Kennesaw State at 7:05 p.m. The pair of games is the start of four home games in four days at Alico Arena between the two programs.
