FORT MYERS, Fla. – Fans will get a chance to watch the FGCU women’s basketball team on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) when the Eagles travel to Nashville, Tenn. to square off against the Belmont Bruins on Monday at 7 p.m. ET at the Curb Event Center.
The Blue and Green will be on TV (Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast - CSS) twice this season. FGCU’s TV slate includes Monday’s game at Belmont and also on Monday, February 7 when the Eagles make their second CSS appearance in as many weeks when they host the defending A-Sun champion ETSU Lady Bucs at Alico Arena.
FGCU’s (16-1, 9-1 A-Sun) game against Belmont (7-14, 4-8 A-Sun) will be the CSS Game of the Week, continuing a stretch of nine consecutive seasons that the A-Sun has been featured on the station. CSS can be found on channel 70 for Comcast subscribers in Southwest Florida. For those outside the market, the game can also be watched on ESPN3.com, but is subject to blackout.
Matt Stewart (play-by-play) and Robin Muller (color analyst) will have the call. The CSS A-Sun Game of the Week highlights the conference’s television package and features some of the league’s top rivalries in its lineup.
The last time the Blue and Green visited the Curb Center on Jan. 2, 2010, FGCU handed Belmont its second conference loss of the season with an 81-48 victory behind three double-digit scorers. FGCU opened the game on fire as they used a 24-6 run to get a quick jump on Belmont and never looked back.
The two teams met earlier this season at Alico Arena (Jan. 3), as the Eagles drained 13 three-pointers en route to a 79-39 win over the Bruins.
FGCU enters Monday’s tilt on a two-game win streak after picking up a 62-51 win at Lipscomb on Saturday night.
The Bruins are coming off of a 70-60 loss to Stetson on Jan. 29. Belmont’s loss to the Hatters was its first since the 2005 A-Sun quarterfinals and its first at the Curb Event Center since January 24, 2002.
