The Eagles, the nation’s leader in three-pointers made per game (11.0), are the lone Atlantic Sun Conference team represented in this week’s Mid-Major Top 25. Stetson, winners of the General Shale Brick Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, earned three votes.
The women's Mid-Major Top 25 is comprised of teams from the America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Great West, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt and West Coast Conference.
The Blue and Green (27-3, 17-3 A-Sun), who won the 2010-11 A-Sun regular season championship and secured a fourth consecutive WNIT automatic bid, now have to sit and wait to see who, where and when they will be playing in the first round of the WNIT. The WNIT selection committee will announce the 64-team Postseason WNIT field late the evening of Monday, March 14, following the NCAA Tournament field announcement.
