FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU women’s basketball team received a pair of votes to rank No. 32 in this week's USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Coaches’ Poll that was released on Tuesday, Jan. 10.

This marks the tenth time in program history that the Eagles have earned votes in the national poll. FGCU, who leads the nation in three-pointers made per game (12.4), last received votes in the USA Today/ESPN Top 25 when they were one of four one-loss teams remaining in Division I (UConn, Baylor, Green Bay) during the 2010-11 season. The Green and Blue received six votes to rank No. 33 in Feb. 8, 2011 poll.

In their last outing, the Eagles knocked down 11 triples, led by Kelsey Jacobson’s (Barnesville, Minn./Moorhead HS) 4-of-6 night, en route to a 74-51 win over A-Sun foe Jacksonville on Monday night at Alico Arena. Senior Eglah Griffin (Fort Myers, Fla./Dunbar HS/Seminole CC) scored 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field, 3-of-4 from long distance and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. Jacobson finished with 12 points, three assists and one board in 27 minutes of action. Freshman Whitney Knight (Winston-Salem, N.C./R.J. Reynolds HS) chipped in with 11 points, three rebounds, three blocks and a pair of assists.

The Blue and Green will be back in action at the Curb Event Center to face A-Sun foe Belmont Thursday, Jan. 12 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
