FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU women’s basketball team received 14 votes to rank No. 30 in this week's USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Coaches’ Poll that was released on Tuesday, Jan. 31.

This marks 13th time in program history that the Eagles have earned votes in the national poll. FGCU, who leads the nation in three-pointers made per game (11.5), picked up 16 votes to rank No. 31 in last week’s poll.

In their last outing, Eglah Griffin (Fort Myers, Fla./Dunbar HS/Seminole CC), Whitney Knight (Winston-Salem, N.C./R.J. Reynolds HS) and Sarah Hansen (McKean, Pa./General McLane HS) each scored in double figures as the Green and Blue defeated a scrappy Kennesaw State squad, 58-51, to pick up their 11th consecutive victory and clinch the program’s first-ever spot in the A-Sun Tournament.

Winners of 19 of their last 20 games, the Eagles (19-2, 11-0 A-Sun) will now head to Jacksonville, Fla. to take on UNF (8-14, 5-6 A-Sun) and Jacksonville (7-15, 5-6 A-Sun). FGCU will face the Ospreys on Feb. 2 (7:00 pm), before taking on the Dolphins on Feb. 4 (1:00pm).
