FORT MYERS, Fla. – Redshirt-junior Sarah Hansen (McKean, Pa./General McLane HS) helped lead FGCU to a pair of big wins, and for her performances, she claimed Player of the Week honors from the Atlantic Sun Conference and College Sports Madness.

The A-Sun Player of the Week honor is surprisingly the second of Hansen’s career (second this season), while the CSM award is the fourth of her career (second this season).

In FGCU’s 76-70 upset win over LSU, Hansen, the Atlantic Sun Conference’s leading scorer (17.5 ppg), finished with a career-high and game-high 30 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, 2-of-4 from long distance and a perfect 14-of-14 from the charity stripe. She registered the second 30-point performance in FGCU’s Division I history and the first since Feb. 12, 2009 (Adrianne McNally). The McKean, Pa. native also tallied nine rebounds, three assists and three steals in the win.

Hansen followed up her career-night against LSU with 13 points, five rebounds and three assists in the Green and Blue’s conference win at Kennesaw State (Dec. 31).

The Green and Blue, who are 76-8 all-time in the month of January, will be back in action on Wednesday, January 2 when they battle the Bears of Mercer (6-6, 0-1 A-Sun) in Macon, Ga. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
