MACON, Ga. – With a perfect 7-for-7 performance against North Florida and her fourth double-double of the season, senior Sarah Hansen earned her second Atlantic Sun Player of the Week award of the 2013-14 season.
As the reigning Atlantic Sun Player of the Year, the accolade is Hansen’s eighth career weekly honor.
Hansen (McKean, Pa./General McLane High School) tallied 14 points and 10 rebounds in the Eagles’ win over Jacksonville on Thursday and scored 17 points on seven field goals in Saturday’s win at UNF.
The senior captain pulled down 15 total rebounds, dished out two assists and had three steals on the weekend. She made 5-of-9 field goals on Thursday to complement the perfect shooting on Saturday for a shooting percentage of .750 through two games.
Hansen now leads the team with 13.8 points per game and has recorded a shooting percentage of 49.4 percent through 27 games this season. Hansen also leads the team with 7.0 rebounds per game and 55 steals.
FGCU continues the Atlantic Sun season with a home game against Lipscomb on Thursday evening. The team will play its regular season home finale against Northern Kentucky Saturday night. Saturday will serve as senior day for Hansen as she plays her final regular season contest at Alico Arena.
