Women's Cross Country Announces 2006 Schedule
FT, MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Gulf Coast University women’s cross country team has released its 2006 schedule.
Entering their fifth season of competition, and final year as an NCAA Division-II Independent, FGCU will run all six of their regular-season meets in the state of Florida. The NCAA Division-II Regional Championships will be held in Memphis, Tenn., and hosted by Christian Brothers University.
The Eagles begin the season with meets on three straight weekends. FGCU opens up at the Nova Southeastern Invitational on September 2 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in a 5K run, before going to Melbourne, Fla., to run at the Florida Tech Invitational. The final week before the break sees FGCU travel to Gainesville, Fla., to compete in the Gator Invitational.
After the week off, FGCU returns to action in the FloridaRunners.com VII Invitational in Dade City, Fla. on September 29. The Eagles will then travel to the Walt Disney World Sports Invitational on October 7. The final regular season meet is in DeLand, Fla., hosted by future Atlantic Sun foe Stetson on October 16. The NCAA Division-II Regional Championships will be held in Memphis, Tenn., and hosted by Christian Brothers University on November 4.
