Women's Cross Country Placed 13th in Walt Disney World Invitational

Orlando, Fla. - The Florida Gulf Coast University women’s cross-country team finished 13th overall at the 5k Walt Disney World Sports Invitational on Saturday morning. The Eagles finished 13th of 41.
For the second consecutive week, freshman Megan Thies (Brandon, Fla.) set a new school record with a time of 19:29. Freshman classmate Angela Hegge (Odessa, Fla.) finished right behind Thies with a time of 19:37, a personal best. Senior Cadie Sly (Loxahatchee, Fla.) crossed 3rd for the Eagles, finishing with a time of 19:54. Freshman Taylor Cook (Homosassa, Fla.) finished with a mark of 20:21, and senior Kim Gallagher (Naples, Fla.) rounded up the scoring for the Eagles with a time of 21:26.
The Eagles will be back on the course next weekend October 12th at the Stetson Hatter Invitational in Deland, Fla.
