FORT MYERS, Fla. – The FGCU cross country teams are set to open the 2011 season this week as they host the FGCU Invitational on Friday, Sept. 2 beginning at 6 p.m. at Buckingham Property. Four teams are set to compete in the invitational as the host FGCU welcomes FAU, FIU and Miami to Fort Myers. In the women’s event the runners will compete in a 5 km race beginning at 6 p.m., and the men’s teams will square off in a 4-mile contest at 6:30 p.m.
