Women's X-C Competes at flrunners.com Invite

FORT MYERS, FL  – The women’s cross country team competed at the flrunners.com Invitational at Ed Radice State Park in Tampa this weekend, finishing 11th of 14 teams.

Sophomore Katy Steffan (Naples/Barron Collier) once again led the way for the Eagles, finishing 20th overall in 20:38. Freshman Laura Salinas (Naples/Lely) was second for the Eagles, finishing in 46th with a time of 21:29.

Freshman Nichole Grothaus (Naples/St. John Neumann) took 68th in 22:32, followed by sophomore Lindsey Garven (Oviedo) in 74th in 23:07; senior Jamie Knapp (Englewood/Lemon Bay) in 82nd in 23:40; sophomore Erika Long (Naples Barron Collier) in 87th in 24:06; and Antoinette Savino (Largo/Seminole High) finished 110th with a time of 26:11.

The Eagles women will compete in the Embry- Riddle/Smoothie King Invitational in Daytona Beach on Saturday.
